Bioplastic Suncatchers
  1. Mix the Base Ingredients: Combine ½ cup of water, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of unflavored gelatin in a saucepan. Stir thoroughly to eliminate any lumps.

  2. Heat Gently Until Thickened: Set the saucepan over medium-low heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens into a viscous gel.

  3. Add Color and Customize: Divide the gel into separate bowls and mix in natural food-safe colorants. Spread thin layers of the colored mixture onto your non-stick surface.

  4. Decorate Thoughtfully: Use toothpicks to swirl colors together, press in decorative items, or layer colors for depth.

  5. Allow to Dry Naturally: Leave the suncatchers to air dry for 24–48 hours, flipping them halfway through.

  6. Punch and Hang: Use a hole punch to create a hanging hole at the top of each suncatcher and display them.
