  1. Fill a pot with 2 to 3 inches of water and bring it to a boil.

  2. Peel, wash, and chop the potatoes into 1-inch pieces and place them in a steamer basket. Steam for 12 to 15 minutes until the potatoes are cooked.

  3. In a heated pan, add cooking oil, onion, and ¼ teaspoon salt. Fry until the onion starts to brown.

  4. Add garlic, ginger, tomato paste, turmeric, paprika, ground cumin, ground coriander, cayenne pepper, and mix well.

  5. Add green peas and water. Cook until the water is cooked out.

  6. Add the steamed potatoes, salt, and fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.

  7. Garnish with black pepper, cilantro, lime or lemon juice and serve as a side dish or in a wrap or sandwich.
