Peel the outside, loose layers of the papery exterior of the garlic bulb off. Then slice the top ¼ inch off the garlic head to expose the cloves.
Place each garlic head into the center of a piece of aluminum foil and drizzle the exposed tops with olive oil. Then wrap the foil around the bulb, sealing the foil at the top.
Preheat Air Fryer at 390°F if your brand requires you to do so.
Place the foil packs into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 390°F for 20-30 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and the top is barely golden. *The cook time will depend on the size of your garlic bulbs. Begin checking doneness for small heads of garlic at 15 minutes.
Remove from the Air Fryer and when cool enough to handle, unwrap the foil. The garlic will easily come out of the bulb with the a butter knife or the handle of a spoon.
Store in an air tight container for 5 days. Or place on a small baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat and freeze individual cloves. Once frozen, store in an air tight container for up to 6 months.
