Combine all ingredients for the marinade in a zip-top plastic bag or a container just big enough to snugly hold your chicken and marinade.
Add the chicken pieces to the bag or container, making sure they are fully coated with the marinade.
Seal the bag or cover the container and refrigerate the chicken for 30-60 minutes.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the excess marinade.
Preheat your grill or oven to 400 degrees F.
Cook the chicken using your preferred method for about 20 minutes.
Check that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F using a meat thermometer.
After cooking, allow the chicken to rest, covered, for 10 minutes.
