Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat (be sure to use a skillet that you have a lid for). Add maple syrup and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
Add carrots and gently stir to coat as evenly as possible.
Reduce heat to medium low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes (stirring occasionally), or until carrots have reached your desired tenderness.
Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley when serving, if desired.
